The agreement with McAfee that allows us to provide antivirus software to home users (faculty, staff and students) is not being renewed. Beginning on December 16th, 2022: updates will no longer be available for those who have installed the software on their personal computers. While the university has moved to Crowdstrike for on-campus computing, home use is not included in the agreement. You will need to find a new solution for antivirus protection on your home computer.

Greg Abbott, the Governor of the State of Texas has issued the following directive regarding the popular video-sharing service, Tik-Tok:
Effective immediately, every state agency in Texas shall ban its officers and employees from downloading or using TikTok on any of its government-issued devices. This TikTok ban extends to all state-issued cell phones, laptops, tablets, desktop computers, and other devices capable of internet connectivity.

A block on the Tik-Tok URL has been placed on all College of Visual Arts and Design devices.
